I would like to be able to turn off the printer as soon as it finishes printing, the problem is that I don't know how to do it. I also equipped my printer with a rasberry with the Simply print server installed. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Put the power switch on top of the printer and in your END GCODE send the gantry up to hit it.

I've read that cutting the power off is not appropriate and can result in some problems with the software sometimes.

For that I know there are some small "ups" that can provide energy to the raspberry to properly shutting down after the power is interrupted. Unfortunately I don't know how to install them but I think there are some guides.

That's true, it will kill the file systems.

Yet why turning off the SBC? That's meant to stay always on, that's also what you should use to turn the PSU power back on 🙂 

I'd say the problem is with those new printer with integrated SBC / MCU, I dunno if people actually go through the proper shutdown routine before hitting the power button.
